Job summary

Cypress HCM is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to provide sustained system administration and engineering support across bare-metal, virtualized, and cloud environments in a hybrid Roseville, MN setting.

You will manage OpenStack deployments (manual and automated via Ansible, Fuel, or Kolla), storage backends like Ceph/Cinder, and multiple clouds (AWS/Azure/GCP) while ensuring security, patching, and high availability. Strong communication and independence are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience in system administration.
  • Experience configuring and managing bare-metal and automated environments, including patching and upgrades.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and managing OpenStack (manual and automated via Ansible, Fuel, or Kolla).
  • Experience with storage backends (Ceph, Cinder) and image repositories.
  • Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Linux and Windows servers.
  • Experience with public cloud providers: AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies: VMware, VCF, KVM, OpenShift virtualization, Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise storage technologies and platforms (Fibre Channel zoning, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS; NetApp, Pure, PowerStore).
  • Working knowledge of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, HTTP).
  • Experience with automation tools AWX, Ansible, and Shell scripting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

  • Install, configure, maintain, and optimize Linux and Windows servers for high availability and performance.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot to maintain operational reliability.
  • Manage and optimize public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies (VMware, VCF, KVM, OpenShift virtualization, Kubernetes).
  • Implement security measures including system hardening, patch management, and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Work with enterprise storage technologies (Fibre Channel zoning, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS) and platforms such as NetApp, Pure, PowerStore.
  • Support identity/auth systems (LDAP/AD) and storage solutions (LVM, SAN, NFS).
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Collaborate with other teams to deploy and support applications and infrastructure.

Job Overview

Provide sustained system administration and engineering support to maintain and remediate infrastructure, implement security guidelines, and perform patching, upgrades, and configuration across bare-metal, virtualized, and cloud environments.

Responsibilities
  • Configure, manage, patch, upgrade, and re-configure both manual (bare metal) and automated environments.
