Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead data governance, Unity Catalog, and enterprise Data Catalog initiatives. You will gather requirements, define governance processes, and enable data-driven decisions across the organization.

You will bridge business stakeholders, data owners, and tech teams, supporting implementation, adoption, and ongoing governance. Strong experience in Unity Catalog and data catalogs is required, with relevant certifications a plus.

Qualifications

• 7 years of Business Analysis experience.
• 3 years of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, or Data Catalog projects.
• Experience supporting Unity Catalog or enterprise data catalog implementations.
• Experience working with enterprise data and analytics platforms.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale data management initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data owners, data stewards, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
• Conduct workshops and requirement-gathering sessions for Data Governance, Unity Catalog, and Data Catalog initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and process documentation.
• Act as the primary liaison between business and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the implementation, enhancement, and adoption of Databricks Unity Catalog and enterprise Data Catalog solutions.
• Define and maintain metadata standards, data classifications, taxonomy, and data lineage requirements.
• Ensure effective cataloging, governance, and discoverability of enterprise data assets.
• Partner with data engineering and platform teams to onboard and manage data assets within the catalog.
• Assist in establishing and improving enterprise data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Define and support data ownership, stewardship, and accountability frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and data security requirements.
• Support audit, risk management, and compliance initiatives related to data governance and management.
• Analyze current data management processes and recommend improvements to drive operational efficiency.
• Develop and track KPIs, metrics, and dashboards to measure data governance effectiveness and adoption.
• Monitor data quality and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data-related issues.
• Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and status updates for leadership and stakeholders.
• Support Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
• Manage requirements traceability, change management activities, and project documentation.
• Participate in UAT planning, testing, business validation, and stakeholder sign-off activities.
