Job summary

Apollo Solutions is seeking a Data Catalog Analyst to join its growing Data Governance function in New York. The role focuses on improving data discoverability, metadata management, lineage, business glossaries, and stewardship across the enterprise.

You will work with business stakeholders, data owners, and technology partners to ensure critical data assets are well documented and governed, participating in Agile ceremonies and governance initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Business Analysis, Metadata Management, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience working within a Data Governance or Data Management team.
• Hands-on experience with data catalog or metadata management platforms such as Atlan, Collibra, Unity Catalog, Alation, Informatica or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of Metadata management, Data cataloging, Data lineage, Business glossaries, Data stewardship and Governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and enhance enterprise data catalogs and metadata repositories.
• Curate business glossaries, taxonomies, data definitions, and metadata assets.
• Work with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to capture and document data knowledge.
• Validate and maintain lineage documentation for critical data assets.
• Assist with metadata enrichment, classification, certification, and governance processes.
• Support data quality initiatives and help improve trust in enterprise data.
• Partner with governance teams and engineers to ensure business context is accurately reflected within governance platforms.
• Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and user enablement activities to encourage adoption of governance tools and processes.
• Produce governance documentation, standards, and best practice guidance.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to governance-related initiatives and projects.

My client is looking for a Data Catalog Analyst to join a growing Data Governance function.

This role sits at the heart of the organisation's governance programme and will focus on improving data discoverability, metadata management, lineage, business glossaries, and stewardship practices across the enterprise.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data owners, governance teams, and technology partners to ensure critical data assets are properly documented, understood, and governed.

Key Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Business Analysis, Metadata Management, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience working within a Data Governance or Data Management team.
• Hands-on experience with data catalog or metadata management platforms such as: Atlan, Collibra, Unity Catalog, Alation, Informatica or similar tools
• Strong understanding of Metadata management, Data cataloging, Data lineage, Business glossaries, Data stewardship and Governance frameworks
• Experience maintaining metadata, glossary content, lineage documentation, and governance artefacts.
• Familiarity with governance workflows, stewardship processes, and data ownership frameworks.
• Experience partnering with both business and technical teams.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong documentation and organisational skills.
• Ability to analyse and understand data assets and relationships across different business domains.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
