Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. is seeking an experienced underwriting support professional in Irvine, CA. The role supports underwriters with information gathering, rating new business, renewals and mid-term changes, and assists with binder preparation for both new and renewal business.

The position is hybrid, requiring 4 days in the office and 1 day remote. Candidates should have 3+ years in the insurance industry and a solid knowledge of commercial lines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of insurance industry experience.
• General knowledge of Commercial Workers’ Compensation, Property, General Liability, Auto and Umbrella.

Responsibilities

• Performs underwriting support including information gathering and rating of new business, renewals and mid-term changes.
• Prepares and issues policy binders per underwriter instructions for new and renewal business.
• Reviews endorsements and directs processing as instructed by underwriter.
• Places Loss Control Inspection orders as instructed by underwriter.
• Identifies renewal solicitation and cross-sell opportunities.
• Provides instructions to processing department for new/renewal accounts.
• Fulfills agency requests for loss runs, policy copies, invoicing, etc.
• Responds to customer questions on renewal, endorsement, cancellation, billing and commissions.

Job description

Overview

Provide administrative support to multiple underwriters, including monitoring email correspondence, and completing administrative tasks to expedite the underwriting process. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

This position is a hybrid work schedule for 4 days in office 1 day remote in our Irvine, CA office

Responsibilities

• Performs underwriting support associated with information gathering and rating of new business, renewals and mid-term changes.
• Provides policy binder preparation/processing instruction for issuance as instructed by underwriter for new and renewal business.
• Reviews and provides instruction to processing department for endorsement requests as instructed by underwriter.
• Completes Loss Control Inspection ordering instructed by underwriter.
• Identifies renewal solicitation/cross sell opportunities.
• Provides instruction to processing department for new and renewal accounts.
• Fulfills agency requests for, loss runs, copies of policies, copies of invoicing, etc.
• Provides customer service support of general questions regarding renewal status, endorsement status, cancellation status, billing inquires, commission questions, etc.)
• May be required to work overtime as assigned.
• Keeps current with market trends and demands.
• Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required:
• 3+ years of insurance industry experience
• General knowledge of Commercial Workers’ Compensation, Property, General Liability, Auto and Umbrella.
• Analytical skills to identify, gather and organize information
• Must be able to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced atmosphere
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and One Note)
• Preferred:
• Insurance industry designations

The expected salary range for this role is $25-33/hr Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
