Sentara Health Plan is seeking a Senior Underwriter for a remote, full-time role. Responsible for underwriting complex employer groups, leading strategic rating decisions, and applying actuarial concepts to pricing with limited data.

The Senior Underwriter also mentors staff, supports high-profile cases, and works with Sales, Actuarial and Leadership. Bachelor’s degree is required and 7 years of underwriting experience are required; health plan experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree REQUIRED.
• Underwriter – 7 years of experience REQUIRED. Health Plan experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Underwrites employer groups of high complexity and leads strategic rating decisions balancing competitiveness and profitability.
• Mentors and serves as SME for Underwriters and Trainees, supports high-profile cases and RFPs, collaborates with Sales, Actuarial, and Leadership.
• Contributes to process improvement, training development, and underwriting strategy.
