Job summary

Sentara Health Plan is seeking a Senior Underwriter for a remote role. The position is full-time (40 hours) with nationwide remote opportunities for qualified candidates in multiple states.

The Senior Underwriter will leverage deep expertise in claims analysis and actuarial concepts to develop sound pricing with complex data, mentor others, and contribute to underwriting strategy and training efforts. A Bachelor’s degree and health plan experience are required.

• Health plan experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting concepts and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and act as subject-matter expert for Underwriters and Trainees.
• Support high-profile cases and RFPs.
• Collaborate with Sales, Actuarial, and Leadership.
• Contribute to process improvement, training development, and underwriting strategy.
