Job summary

PNC is seeking an experienced underwriter who will work independently to structure, analyze, and approve complex loan transactions across multifamily housing. The role requires deep knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines, and the ability to evaluate third-party reports and market conditions.

The position involves ensuring compliance with IRS tax provisions linking to affordable housing programs, managing risk, and supporting team coaching.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac requirements for affordable housing.
• Fannie Mae Multifamily and Freddie Mac Targeted Affordable Housing product knowledge.
• Knowledge of the Fannie Mae Selling and Servicing Guide with emphasis on chapters for affordable housing and forward commitments.
• Knowledge of the Freddie Mac Seller/Servicer Guide focusing on targeted affordable housing financing and forward commitments.
• Performs review and analysis of third-party reports including Environmental, Property Condition Assessment, Plan and Cost Review, Appraisal, and Market Study.

Responsibilities

• Works independently with little or no oversight and provides credit structuring recommendations.
• Prepares offerings/scorecards and analyzes credit, collateral, and financial worthiness of loan/transaction parties; may manage ongoing credit risk for assigned portfolio.
• Contacts internal/external customers to gather information and clarify inconsistencies; may perform pre/post-approval activities.
• Identifies and confirms external regulatory requirements; ensures internal policies are followed.
• Makes credit recommendations or decisions as appropriate; serves as SME and may coach others.
