Job summary

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions seeks a Senior Underwriter to join our Crime & Fidelity team, based in NYC, Denver, Irvine, or fully remote nationwide, on a hybrid schedule. Under technical direction and within underwriting authority, you will review complex risks and determine acceptance, using guidelines and laws to guide decisions.

You will develop relationships with producers, manage portfolios, mentor junior underwriters, and collaborate with claims, actuary, and risk control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• 3–5 years progressively complex specialty underwriting experience.
• Professional designation (AICPCU or RPLU) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages a profitable book by evaluating results and planning action plans.
• Underwrites new and renewal business within authority using guidelines and laws.
• Develops relationships with producers to promote growth and retention.
• Collaborates with claims, actuary and risk control to service accounts.
• Regularly travels to key producers and participates in meetings.
• Mentors less experienced underwriters and assistants.
• Stays abreast of industry trends and territory developments.
