Overview:

AvMed, a division of Sentara Health Plans in the Florida market, is hiring a Remote Senior Underwriter. Remote opportunities are available in the following states: Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington (state), West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

The Senior Underwriter is responsible for accurately developing employer group rates, collaborating with the sales department to finalize rates and develop benefit alternatives, mentoring underwriters and trainees, and handling complex cases.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• 7 years of underwriting experience, specifically in large group underwriting
• Preferred experience in prospect rating, renewal rating, and self-funding

Compensation and Benefits:

Market-competitive packages including base pay ($60,756.8 - $101,245.4), incentives, and benefits. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, premiums, shift incentives, or bonuses.
