Job summary

Eagle Mine, LLC is seeking an experienced Underground Surveyor to ensure accurate surveying and mapping of development and production areas. You will establish precise control and supervise survey technicians in a challenging underground operation.

Responsibilities include supervising survey processes, maintaining the survey control database, approving level and drill/blast markups, delivering timely reports, and supporting mining engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Survey or Survey Engineering is required.
  • 3–7 years of professional surveying experience; underground experience preferred.
  • Experience with Cut and Fill and Longhole Stoping mining methods is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to mentor staff.
  • Proficiency with mining software and database management (Deswik, Vulcan, Ventsim) is preferred.

  • Oversee InSAR surface monitoring, and ensure reporting is updated.
  • Mentoring and supervision of Underground Survey Technicians.
  • Provide support to the Mining Engineers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MAIN PURPOSE:

Ensure all mining progress is accurately surveyed and recorded, and that digital solids and maps are created. Ensure accurate control is established to all development and production areas within the underground operation.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Survey or Survey Engineering; appropriate combination of education and experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree requirements.
  • 3-7 years of professional experience (technical and/or operations); underground experience preferred.
  • Experience in Cut and Fill, and Longhole Stoping mining methods preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong computer skills and previous experience with mining software and database management (e.g. Deswik, Vulcan, and Ventsim).
  • Understanding of mine planning principles and practices, preferred
  • Experience with drone survey preferred

  • Only use equipment you are trained to use and operate the equipment in a way that is safe, protects the environment and doesn’t cause undue community impacts.
  • Participate in HSEC training provided to them
  • Report all incidents; including but not limited to injuries, near miss, community interactions and impacts, environmental impacts, spills, unsafe work practices, etc.
