Job summary

Providence Swedish Ballard in Seattle seeks a skilled sonographer to perform OB/GYN, abdominal and small-part examinations and to assist radiologists during invasive procedures.

Requirements include ARDMS eligibility, National Registered Technologist in Sonography or ARDMS certification, current BLS, and at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of Ultrasound training program and eligibility to take ARDMS registry exam.
• Current ARDMS registry eligibility or certification.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required on hire.
• Minimum of 2 years as a sonographer.

Responsibilities

• Perform OB/GYN, abdominal and small parts ultrasound examinations.
• Assist radiologist during invasive procedures.
• Conduct Doppler studies (liver, transplants) and neonatal cranial exams.
• Assess patient condition and provide accurate preliminary judgments.

Description

Performs a variety of sonographic examinations dealing with OB/GYN, abdominal and small parts. Expectations also include assisting the radiologist during invasive procedures. Performs abdominal Doppler studies of the liver and liver transplants, as well as performing Nuchal Translucency studies and neonatal cranial exams. One additional certification i.e. Breast, Vascular, Neurosonography, MSK, Pediatrics, Fetal Echo, Nuchal translucency or the Neonatal specialty is required for sonographer 2 status. Makes a clinical judgment of the patient's condition, based on information obtained from the referring physician, medical records, patient interview and personal assessments.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Successful completion of Ultrasound training program --- Education sufficient to meet eligibility requirements to take American Registry of Diagnostic Ultrasonographers (ARDMS) registry examination
• Upon hire:
• National Registered Technologist - Sonography --or--
• National Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• 2 years of experience as a sonographer
