Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a senior UI/UX engineer to build accessible, modern interfaces for McLean, VA-based, large-scale applications.

You will own the product lifecycle from design to maintenance, delivering practical UI/UX solutions while focusing on end-user experience and accessibility standards. The role requires 10+ years of experience, expertise in React or Vue (Vue preferred), strong HTML/CSS/JavaScript skills, and a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience
• BA/BS in Information Technology or related field
• Experience developing medium to large-scale applications with testing and standards
• Hands-on with React or Vue (Vue preferred)
• Strong WCAG accessibility knowledge
• Practical Agile project experience and backlog management
• Proficient with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Fundamental experience with design principles and component libraries
• Comfort with Git and the command line
• Comfort with DOM and CSS cascade
• Experience in Agile/Scrum development
• Experience with DevOps/Platforms: AWS
• Demonstrated experience developing with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
• Security clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Onsite location: McLean, VA
• U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical UI/UX solutions to complex problems
• Adapt cutting-edge approaches to client-specific requirements
• Place end-user experience at the center of design and delivery
• Support accessible front-end design modifications
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve UX issues (including responsiveness and theming)
• Work with and help define common UI grid layouts
• Own the product lifecycle across design, development, quality, deployment, and maintenance
• Contribute to team performance improvement and collaboration
• Solve problems creatively and effectively
