Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior UI Software Engineer in Irving, TX, offering a hybrid work model. You will design, develop, and optimize scalable React/Redux UI components, aligning with backend GraphQL/REST APIs, and driving best practices and SOLID principles across the team.

The role demands strong leadership in UI architecture, test-driven development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing UI with React JS and Redux.
• Experience designing and implementing microapps end to end.
• Good understanding of containerized applications.
• Experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins/Git/Rancher).
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Experience with integration with Ping Federations & Apigee.
• Cloud experience with Azure desired.
• Lead and mentor offshore/onshore UI teams.
• Experience with UML Diagram creation with Visio or draw.io.
• Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and technical guidance sessions.

Responsibilities

• Develop features across the UI in collaboration with requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, debugging, and testing.
• Lead design and development of scalable, responsive web apps using React JS and Redux.
• Define and enforce UI architecture, coding standards, and best practices.
• Build reusable UI components with modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Work closely with backend teams to integrate GraphQL/REST APIs.
• Collaborate in an Agile environment with developers, admins, and business users.
• Solve complex problems independently.
• Document new features using object-oriented concepts and apply SOLID principles.
• Adhere to branching, release, and versioning strategies for high-quality delivery.
• Unit test code for robustness and reliability.
• Work on bug fixes and performance improvements.
