Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense is seeking a Senior UAS Systems Integration Engineer to support development, integration, testing, and optimization of next‑generation small unmanned aircraft systems for defense applications.

The role blends software, electrical, mechanical, and aerospace engineering to integrate hardware and software subsystems, support prototype flight tests, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive maturation from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, CS, or related field.
• 5+ years in UAS, aerospace, robotics, or autonomous systems.
• 3+ years hands-on with drones or autonomous platforms.
• Experience with Linux, Python, MATLAB, and embedded systems.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Integrate avionics, sensors, communications, payloads, and autonomy software.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineers to solve issues.
• Support system architecture, requirements, and interface definitions.
• Bring up prototype aircraft and perform first-power testing.
• Tune flight controllers and autopilot systems (PX4/ArduPilot).
• Analyze flight logs using Python or MATLAB.
• Support lab, ground, and flight testing activities.
• Troubleshoot hardware with oscilloscopes and test equipment.
• Investigate root causes and drive resolutions.
• Support battery systems and production transition.
