Job summary

J & K Communications is seeking an experienced Two-Way Radio Systems Technician to support the Columbia City area. The role includes in-house and in-field responses, repairs of base stations, repeaters, mobiles and portables, plus installation and maintenance of radio systems.

You will work with the sales team on deployments, install related equipment, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule with after-hours incentives. Benefits are provided upon hire.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of land mobile radio systems experience.
• Experience with Conventional Analog, Digital, NXDN Trunking, P25 (Atlas preferred).
• FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License or equivalent certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain two-way radio systems including base stations, repeaters, and mobile radios.
• Troubleshoot and repair radio equipment; diagnose faults and replace components.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections of radio equipment.
• Coordinate project installations with the sales team.
• Install and/or remove equipment such as gateways and external speakers for communications systems.
• Assist with dispatch and remote installation design.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency call outs.
• Communicate professionally with customers and co-workers daily.
• Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and multitask effectively.
