Job summary

Toshiba America Energy Systems seeks a Turbine Installation Technical Advisor to provide on-site technical leadership during erection and installation of new steam turbines, turbine valves, and related auxiliary systems.

You will work with EPC contractors, Toshiba Japan engineering, and TAES project teams to ensure installation activities meet design specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements, including CTQ inspections and documentation through mechanical completion and turnover

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of ten years of field experience in steam turbine installation/erection/commissioning.
Technical knowledge of turbine installations, valve systems, tolerances, preservation and safety.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site technical advisory for erection and installation of turbines and valves.
Coordinate long-term project site assignments, up to one year.
Ensure activities follow design drawings, specs, manuals, and quality requirements.
Interface between EPC contractors, TAES management, and Toshiba engineering.
Review EPC installation procedures, lift plans, and method statements for compliance.
Perform, witness, and document CTQ inspections and checks through completion.
Verify dimensions, alignments, clearances, torques, interfaces and cleanliness.
Identify and resolve installation non-conformances with engineering and QA.
Provide guidance to EPC supervision and craft labor on field issues.
Participate in site safety meetings and promote safe work practices.
Support installation walk-downs and readiness for handover to commissioning.
