Schnabel is a leading employee‑owned engineering and consulting firm specializing in geotechnical, geostructural, tunnel, and dam projects. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead tunnel program management in the Washington, D.C.

area, supporting business development, project and staff management across design, rehabilitation, inspection, and construction management. Candidates should have a PE license, ABET‑accredited civil/geotechnical/structural degree, and a track record

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited school.
• Licensed Professional Engineer with ability to reciprocity to other US states.
• Minimum 15 years engineering experience; at least 10 years in project management.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Ability to work on active construction sites, including underground spaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead tunnel and underground design and rehabilitation projects.
• Manage scope, schedule and budget; report to clients.
• Coordinate multi-discipline teams across locations.
• Oversee contract documents, calculations and design reports.
• Develop proposals with manhour estimates and client coordination.
• Mentor junior staff engineers.
• Support marketing and business development nationwide.
