Job Overview
An established law firm in Uniondale is seeking a Senior Trusts and Estates Attorney with 20 years of experience. This role is ideal for a seasoned practitioner who can independently manage sophisticated estate planning and administration matters. The successful candidate will advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and fiduciaries on complex estate, tax, and trust issues while ensuring legal compliance and providing high-level strategic counsel.

Location

  • Uniondale, New York

Duties

  • Draft and review wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents
  • Advise clients on wealth transfer strategies, tax planning, and charitable giving
  • Administer complex estates and trusts, including probate and fiduciary accounting
  • Counsel fiduciaries on duties and obligations under trust and estate law
  • Represent clients in Surrogate’s Court proceedings, including contested matters
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals on client matters
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to junior attorneys and support staff

Requirements

  • 20 years of experience in trusts and estates law
  • Extensive experience in estate planning, estate administration, and related tax matters
  • Licensed and in good standing with the New York State Bar
  • Deep knowledge of federal and state tax laws affecting estates and trusts
  • Strong track record of advising high-net-worth clients and managing complex cases

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • LLM in Taxation or Estate Planning (preferred but not required)

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of New York
