Job summary

Alta Trust Company is a growing fiduciary services provider seeking a Senior Trust Officer to manage a diverse book of personal trusts and related structures. You will review governing instruments, coordinate onboarding and money movement, and make prudent decisions in line with Alta’s policies and regulatory standards.

The role emphasizes client and advisor relationships, mentorship, and contributing to process improvements within a lean, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years in trust officer or trust administrator roles.
• Strong knowledge of trusts and fiduciary principles.
• Experience with trust operations, compliance and quality control.
• Ability to review governing instruments and interpret documents.
• Ability to work in person at Alta’s Sioux Falls, SD office.

Responsibilities

• Administer and oversee a book of trust and fiduciary accounts.
• Review governing instruments and ensure proper administration.
• Coordinate onboarding, funding, and due diligence for new relationships.
• Coordinate distributions and money movement; document rationale.
• Collaborate with investment and operations teams to monitor portfolios.
• Maintain client and advisor relationships and provide trusted guidance.
• Support business development by deepening advisor relationships.
• Assist with compliance activities including BSA/AML and KYC.
• Mentor junior team members and support quality-control initiatives.
