Job summary

The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a Lead Tribal Security Officer to oversee security across Tribal facilities in Winnebago. You will enforce policies and ordinances, coordinate patrols, manage post assignments, and supervise security staff to ensure a safe and compliant environment.

Responsibilities include reviewing footage, delivering training, liaising with Tribal and local agencies, preparing incident reports, and maintaining security logs.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of tribal, state, and local laws relating to domestic violence and crime victims.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher).
• Ability to interview victims and communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Excellent verbal and written skills; strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Ability to shovel snow, sweep entrances, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values.
• Patrols and secures all areas of multiple Tribal properties; maintains post assignments.
• Maintains knowledge of health and security policies and ensures compliance by residents.
• Supervises officers, manages shift schedules, assigns routes, and monitors performance.
• Reviews and approves security footage and door access as needed.
• Develops and delivers training programs on emergencies and conflict resolution.
• Acts as main contact between security team, program management, and external agencies.
• Maintains communication with Tribal security officers and employees for effective information flow.
• Completes incident reports and routes them to supervisors.
• Responds to emergencies; reports hazards and cooperates with law enforcement.
• Develops safety policies and assigns roles for community security.
• Trains staff in fogging and disinfecting tribal buildings when required.
• Assists other departments with health and safety duties.
• Monitors activities on Tribal property; conducts routine safety checks.
• Keeps logs and inventory of security hardware and badges.
• Performs scheduled walkthroughs to ensure locks and lights.
• Maintains post during shifts; conducts surveillance checks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
