Job summary

Strategic Legal Practices is seeking a full-time Trial Attorney in Los Angeles to lead civil litigation matters in State and Federal courts. You will supervise junior attorneys, manage case dockets, and develop trial strategy.

The ideal candidate holds a California J.D. with 4–5 years of trial experience and 5–10 first chair jury trials. Strong writing, analysis, and leadership are essential to thrive in our fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Position Overview

Strategic Legal Practices is seeking a full-time tenacious and perceptive Trial Attorney to join our rapidly expanding team. The ideal candidate should have experience supervising a team of attorneys and be licensed (and in good standing) in California with two or more years of experience in directly managing civil litigation in both State and Federal courts, inclusive of sophisticated law and motion work.

Key Responsibilities (based On Team Assignment)

• Lead pre-trial preparation and trial strategy.
• Delegate and supervise assignments for junior attorneys and staff.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and witnesses.
• Argue substantive motions in court.
• Independently manage and litigate a full case docket.
• Prepare litigation reports and risk assessments for clients and leadership.
• Engage in discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Examine and cross-examine witnesses at trial; respond to evidentiary objections.
• Attend and lead hearings, mediations, and other proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements leveraging deep case knowledge.
• Prepare, argue, and litigate a diverse roster of cases through trial.
• Provide strategic legal advice and complex case analysis.

Compensation

• Competitive salary commensurate with experience - $190,000 - $350,000
• Billing bonus: Up to $20,000 - easy to earn!
• Two additional bonus structures:
• Performance-based trial and litigation outcomes.
• Firm-wide discretionary bonuses tied to overall results and contributions.
