Job summary

FrankCrum search is for a full-time Senior Trial Attorney in Florida to support the Managing Trial Attorney in defending Frank Winston Crum Insurance Company and Clear Blue Insurance Company’s insureds in litigated matters. You will handle property, bodily injury, and construction defect claims statewide in Florida.

You will manage pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, and case strategy, coordinating with Claims Management and clients to achieve timely resolutions and favorable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have JD from an accredited law school.
• Florida Bar in good standing required.
• Seven+ years of civil litigation experience, insurance defense preferred.
• Jury trial experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with construction defect claims and Chapter 558 pre-suit.
• Experience with property/general liability claims.
• Board Certification in Construction Law or Trial Attorney preferred but not required.
• Experience with litigation tech including Clio, e-discovery, and document management.

Responsibilities

• Update all aspects of assigned matters from pre-trial through post-trial.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies to meet objectives.
• Defend insureds in moderate to complex property, bodily injury, and construction defect claims.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and depositions.

The Role You'll Play to Create Success

We are excited to announce our search for a full-timeSenior Trial Attorney! In this role, you will contribute to the mission of FrankCrum by supporting the Managing Trial Attorney in the defense of Frank Winston Crum Insurance Company and Clear Blue Insurance Company’s insureds ("Insureds") in litigated matters involving in property, bodily injury, and construction defect claims throughout the State of Florida.

1. Updates continuously all aspects of assigned matters from pre-trial through post-trial resolution.
2. Develops and implements strategies to achieve team litigation objectives and obtain prompt resolution of claims and lawsuits.
3. Defends and represents Insureds in moderate complexity property, bodily injury and construction defect claims and lawsuits.
4. Prepares and manage pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions and any other tasks or duties necessary for the proper representation of Insureds.
5. Ensures all carrier reporting guidelines are adhered to timely and with sufficient substantive detail.
6. Maintains a cooperative partnership with Claims Management/Staff and clients in the handling of all claims and lawsuits.
7. Analyzes case performance on open and closed files.

The Attributes We Seek

1. Must have received a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. Member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
3. Seven (7) plus years of relevant civil litigation experience, preferably with a substantial portion of that time involved with insurance defense-oriented litigation.
4. Jury trial experience preferred but not required.
5. Experience litigating construction defect claims, including Chapter 558 pre-suit requirements.
6. Experience litigating property and general liability claims.
7. Construction Law Board Certification/and or Board-Certified Trial Attorney preferred but not required.
8. Experience with litigation case management platforms. Experience with Clio preferred.
9. Proficiency with legal technology, including document management systems, e-discovery platforms, and artificial intelligence (AI) tools utilized to support legal research, document review, drafting, and workflow efficiency.
