South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a skilled engineering technician supervisor to lead field staff on highway projects. You will train technicians in plan interpretation, sampling, testing, and surveying while ensuring strict safety practices and accurate documentation.

You will assist the Resident Construction Engineer with inspections, time entry reviews, change-order pricing, and final project closeout, ensuring compliance with SCDOT standards throughout all phases.

Competenze

• A high school diploma and 4.5 years of engineering technician experience or equivalent.
• Possession of Technician Certification per SCDOT Policy may substitute for up to 6 months of related experience.
• Experience with safety, inspections, testing, and field measurements is required.

Mansioni

• Supervise subordinate technicians on assigned projects.
• Inspect contractor work to ensure compliance with plans and SCDOT specs.
• Review daily time entries and perform monthly/final estimates.
• Train staff in plan reading, testing, and field surveying.
• Maintain project records, wage interviews, and certification documentation.
• Assist RCE with inspections across project phases and closeout activities.
