JMT’s Hunt Valley, MD office is seeking a Senior Transportation Structural Engineer to lead all aspects of structural design for transportation projects. The role requires managing design of bridges and related structures across varying sizes and complexity.

The position emphasizes meeting schedules, maintaining quality, and coordinating with clients and sub consultants. Previous MD DOT experience and PE licensure are preferred.

Qualifications

• 12-20 years of relevant experience in structural design.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland.
• Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design.
• Experience working with Maryland Department of Transportation.

Responsibilities

• Design of new and rehabilitation bridge projects.
• Ability to meet project schedules and maintain quality standards.
• Maintain project scopes and budgets.
• Preparation of contract bid documents and managing construction phase services.
• Coordination with sub consultants.
• Leading design engineers and drafting personnel.
• Converse with clients and establish relationships.
