Job summary

M&J Engineering, D.P.C. is seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Project Manager/Practice Leader to grow our Texas transportation practice.

This is not a traditional project management role; you will shape strategy, build client relationships, win work, and lead complex project delivery across the Texas transportation portfolio. The role offers leadership opportunities, cross-discipline collaboration, and the chance to influence growth in a dynamic, employee‑owned engineering firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Texas PE license, or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
  • Approximately 10+ years of transportation engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting projects for TxDOT, NTTA, municipalities, airports, or other public-sector transportation clients.
  • Experience serving as a Project Manager, Deputy Project Manager, Task Lead, or technical lead on transportation projects.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead projects, support pursuits, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key transportation leader within M&J's Texas operations.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with TxDOT, NTTA, municipalities, airport sponsors, MPOs, and other transportation stakeholders.
  • Lead and support transportation pursuits, proposals, interviews, and capture planning efforts.
  • Serve as Project Manager, Deputy Project Manager, Task Lead, or Technical Lead on transportation projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver transportation planning, project development, and design services.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering staff.
  • Help establish processes, resources, and capabilities necessary to support long-term transportation growth.
  • Represent M&J at industry events, conferences, professional organizations, and client meetings.

M&J is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Senior Transportation Project Manager/Practice Leader to help expand our growing transportation practice in Texas.

This is not a traditional project management position.
