Job summary

WSP is seeking a Project Manager for our Columbia, MD office to lead civil infrastructure projects from planning to closeout. You will manage schedules, budgets, risk, and quality while coordinating with internal teams, regulators, utilities, and contractors.

The role requires 5–7 years of PM experience, a civil engineering or construction management background, and proficiency with MS Project/Primavera P6. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible project management experience
• Experience managing transportation, roadway, streetscape, bridge, or other civil infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, and construction management
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing consultant and contractor performance
• Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling software, along with Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Manage transportation and roadway capital improvement projects from planning through design, procurement, construction, and closeout
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans to ensure successful project delivery
• Lead multidisciplinary consultant and contractor teams while serving as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders
• Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and quality, implementing corrective actions as needed
• Coordinate with internal departments, regulatory agencies, utilities, consultants, contractors, and public stakeholders
• Review consultant deliverables, design documents, cost estimates, specifications, and construction schedules
• Manage project procurement activities, including consultant selections, contract negotiations, and change orders
• Track project performance using key metrics and provide regular status reports to management
• Facilitate project meetings and ensure timely resolution of issues that could impact project delivery
• Promote collaboration while maintaining accountability for project objectives
