This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager for our Columbia, MD office. Be involved in projects with our Program Management Team at Charles County and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

The ideal candidate will be an engineer with at least 7-10 years of experience in project management, planning, design, and construction management for roadway projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Managed design consultants and construction contractor’s projects for Roadway projects.
  • Coordinate Project designers and construction managers activities.
  • Manage capital improvement projects including project schedule, budget, and deliverables.
  • Permit coordination.
  • Provide technical presentations to project teams and other stakeholders.
Who You Are
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering or relevant field
  • 7-10 years roadway design and construction management experience
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Familiarity with the practices and principles of Design and Construction
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in performing and reviewing various traffic engineering analysis including traffic impact studies, traffic signal warrant studies, and reviewing traffic engineering design plans.
  • Proficient knowledge of Roundabout design, standard, guidelines, and latest research.
  • Proficient knowledge of street and sidewalk engineering, design, and construction principles and practices.
  • Expert knowledge on the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), Highway Safety Manual, and/or other traffic engineering related safety policy, standards, or guidelines
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate both countywide programs and specific projects.
  • Data and information systems management experience
  • Experience in a web-based document management system such as e‑Builder, Unifier and CM‑14
  • Ability to support scheduling for a program of multiple projects, including monitoring costs.
  • EIT with desire to achieve PE.
  • Ability to lead and conduct large meetings and work in a client setting

Compensation

Expected Salary: $120,150-$141,440

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
