Job summary

Alexander Associates Technical Recruitment is assisting an established engineering consultancy in appointing a senior Transportation Project Manager to lead the pursuit and delivery of major TxDOT projects across Texas.

This role requires a proven transportation leader with strong client relationships, an extensive track record in TxDOT contracts, and the ability to win and execute large projects on time and profitably.

Qualifications

• Texas Professional Engineer license.
• 15+ years of transportation engineering experience.
• Proven track record winning major TxDOT contracts as prime consultant.
• Delivery of large TxDOT schematic or PS&E projects.
• Experience with contracts around $8 million+.
• Established relationships with TxDOT districts and divisions.
• Strong leadership, communication and client development skills.
• Austin or Dallas–Fort Worth preferred; other TX locations considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pursuit and delivery of major TxDOT transportation projects.
• Serve as Principal-in-Charge or Project Manager on large schematic and PS&E assignments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with TxDOT leadership across districts and divisions.
• Identify project opportunities and position the company for major contract awards.
• Lead proposals, presentations, interviews and teaming discussions.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules and contractual performance.
• Direct multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
• Ensure major projects are delivered successfully and profitably.
• Mentor transportation professionals and support growth across Texas.

I am working with a nationally established engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a senior Transportation Project Manager to lead the pursuit and delivery of major TxDOT projects across Texas.

The position is suited to an established transportation leader with the industry reputation, client relationships and project experience required to win and execute large, project specific TxDOT contracts.

Salary: $180,000-$250,000+ depending on experience

Job Specifications:

• Lead the pursuit and delivery of major TxDOT transportation projects
• Serve as Principal-in-Charge or Project Manager on large schematic and PS&E assignments
• Develop and maintain relationships with TxDOT leadership across multiple districts and divisions
• Identify project opportunities and position the company for major contract awards
• Lead proposals, presentations, interviews and teaming discussions
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules and contractual performance
• Direct multidisciplinary engineering and design teams
• Ensure major projects are delivered successfully and profitably

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Texas Professional Engineer license
• Approximately 15 or more years of transportation engineering experience
• Proven track record winning major, project-specific TxDOT contracts as the prime consultant
• Successful delivery of large TxDOT schematic or PS&E projects
• Experience with engineering contracts valued at approximately $8 million or more would be advantageous
• Established relationships with TxDOT districts and divisions
• Strong leadership, communication and client-development skills
• Austin or Dallas-Fort Worth preferred, although other Texas locations will be considered
• Detailed software production experience is not essential
