Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead our Tennessee transportation practice and guide growth for the State DOT Client Center.

You will provide direction to the local team and work with the Director of Projects to achieve quality delivery, profitability, and expansion. This role requires strong design credentials, TDOT experience, and a proven ability to manage complex projects, mentor staff, and coordinate with marketing and client teams across the firm’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• PE preferred, but PMP with equivalent skills will be considered.
• 10–15 years of design/project management experience.
• Experience with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).
• Strong design and technical credibility.
• Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of the State DOT Client Center’s business plan.
• Collaborate with the Director of Projects, CSLs, and Marketing for client plans, pursuits, proposals, and interviews.
• Developing proposals and negotiating contracts.
• Developing and monitoring project schedules, budgets, billing, and collections.
• Providing technical oversight of projects to adhere to Barge’s Quality Program.
• Facilitating external and internal meetings during all project phases; managing changes in scope and/or level of effort.
• Develop conceptual design solutions in response to client goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with discipline leaders to develop reports, designs, plans, and specifications for projects.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned staff to ensure effective workload management and development.
• Work with the Director of Projects to ensure key skillsets and capabilities are in place.
• Collaborate with other departments to allocate resources firmwide and share talent and work across the firm.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
