Job summary

LHB is seeking an experienced transportation engineer and project leader to help shape the growth of our transportation practice in Minneapolis. You’ll lead projects from planning through delivery, mentor staff, and build trusted client relationships.

You’ll join a multidisciplinary firm with 60 years of experience, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to projects that strengthen our communities, with a hybrid work model and strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or ability to obtain Minnesota licensure.
• Significant experience in transportation, roadway, municipal, or related infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong client relationship and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Minnesota transportation practices (MnDOT, State Aid).
• Interest in developing client relationships and contributing to business growth.
• Collaborative leadership style and interest in developing others.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation projects from planning and design through delivery.
• Serve as a trusted partner to municipal, county, state, and other transportation clients.
• Guide project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
• Bring together multidisciplinary teams to solve complex transportation challenges.
• Help reflect the firm’s commitment to technical excellence.
• Strengthen relationships with existing clients and develop new ones.
• Identify opportunities where the firm’s expertise can make a difference.
• Participate in business development, proposals, interviews, and pursuit strategy.
• Shape the future direction and growth of the transportation practice.
• Represent the firm within the transportation industry and communities served.
• Mentor engineers and transport professionals to grow technical and leadership skills.
