Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Engineer to lead planning, design, and execution of major roadway projects in Houston and surrounding areas.

You will manage multidisciplinary teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver projects from start to finish, enhancing transportation networks and community connectivity.

The role requires a PE license and a decade of hands-on experience in highway engineering, with a focus on collaborative, client-focused delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (AEC Industry) is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in transportation/roadway projects.
  • Proven experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring engineering projects.
  • Proven project management experience with successful project delivery.
  • Knowledge of construction management, quality assurance, safety protocols and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all phases of highway projects from feasibility studies to final construction.
  • Ensure alignment with budget, schedule, and local agency quality standards.
  • Coordinate with clients on project scope and during delivery.
  • Review detailed engineering designs using OpenRoads.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including environmental and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with agencies, contractors, utilities, and communities to secure approvals.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other




We'reseeking a highly experienced Senior TransportationEngineer to lead the planning, design, and execution of major roadway and highway infrastructure projects in Houston and the surrounding areas. With a decade of hands-on experience, you'llbe responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering projects from start to finish that enhance transportation networks and community connectivity.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct all phases of highway projects-from feasibility studies to final construction-ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and local agency quality standards.
  • Prepare and review project scopes and level of efforts for budgeting.
  • Coordinate with clients on project scope and during project execution.
  • Review and approve detailed engineering designs using software like OpenRoads
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure all designs and construction activities meet federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, contractors, utility companies, and community groups to align project goals and secure approvals.
  • May conduct site inspections, resolve field issues, and ensure construction adheres to design specifications and safety protocols.

Qualifications




Education and/or Work Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry)
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring engineering projects.
  • Proven experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to construction management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
