Job summary

gpac, a people-first engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer (PE) to lead the design and delivery of roadway and infrastructure projects in the Chicago area.

You will own projects, mentor junior staff, and work with internal teams and clients to ensure high-quality, compliant designs using Civil 3D or MicroStation. A PE license and 5+ years of experience are required, with a drive for career growth and balance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years of transportation or roadway design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with Design-Build or P3 delivery methods preferred.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D or MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design projects, including highways, interstates, urban streets, and interchanges.
• Develop and review geometric designs using Civil 3D and MicroStation.
• Ensure compliance with AASHTO and applicable DOT/INDOT standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
• Prepare construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Mentor and support junior engineering staff.
