Job summary

The City of Renton’s Public Works department is seeking a Program Development Coordinator 2 in the Transportation Systems Division. This senior role supports roadway, nonmotorized, and pavement rehabilitation projects, grant administration, and capital budget planning while coordinating project delivery.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Planning, Civil Engineering or closely related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or 8 years of related

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Planning, Civil Engineering or closely related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in civil engineering, systems development, transportation system problem-solving and analysis, or transportation program/project management.
  • Valid Driver's License and successful passing of background and driving record checks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning activities and technical analyses within the Transportation Planning section.
  • Manage tasks or components of transportation planning studies with a focus on multimodal system planning and integration.
  • Provide strategic input and direction on transportation initiatives aligned with citywide goals.
  • Oversee the Transportation Capital Improvement Program for the Transportation Systems Division.
  • Prepare the annual Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program with project descriptions, cost estimates, scheduling, and funding forecasts.
  • Coordinate construction scheduling, financing, and short-range planning with regional partners.
  • Lead grant program development, submission, and compliance activities.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, Planning, Civil Engineering or closely related field
8 years of relevant education and experience
