Job summary

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) in Detroit seeks a Senior Transportation Project Manager to lead roadway and utility design within a fully 3D digital environment. You will mentor seven designers in our Detroit office and oversee projects with MDOT and local agencies.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree, 12–15 years’ MDOT/local agency experience, and a Michigan PE, with strong OpenRoads ORD and AutoCAD/Civil3D skills. A PM background and leadership ability are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• 12–15 years’ MDOT transportation/local agency experience.
• Michigan PE with ability to register in other states.
• Proficiency in OpenRoads ORD and AutoCAD/Civil3D.
• Experience as a project manager.
• Proven ability to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design plans and 3D models for local agency projects.
• Perform and review design calculations for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare design packages for client submittals and RID packages.
• Mentor junior staff and foster a high-performing team.
• Support MDOT projects with leadership and guidance.
• Oversee seven designers to ensure on-time project delivery.
