Job summary

City of Glendale (AZ) is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner to perform advanced financial analysis and transportation planning across roadways, transit, airports, and pedestrian networks. The role requires a Master’s degree in Urban or Transportation Planning and at least three years of related experience.

The position includes comprehensive budgeting, grant management, and collaboration with city departments and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Urban/Transportation Planning and 3 years of transportation planning experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may qualify; 1 year of relevant experience may substitute for each year of required education.

Responsibilities

• Creates comprehensive financial reports related to Transportation project funds, operating and maintenance costs, and grants.
• Performs advanced financial analysis and budgeting for capital programs and schedules.
• Develops transportation plans including multimodal concepts and plans for bicycles, pedestrians, transit and streets.
• Represents the city on task forces and coordinates with federal, state and regional agencies.
