Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in traffic engineering or transportation planning.
• 10+ years of travel demand forecast modeling and related modeling work.
• Familiarity with travel demand forecast software including CUBE, TransCad, Synchro and VISSIM.
• Programming skills in Python and/or R to collect, clean, code and analyze data.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a project and team environment.

Responsibilities

• Apply travel models to forecast travel behavior, assess system performance and policy impacts.
• Apply urban/land use models to forecast land use patterns and trends.
• Calibrate and validate models, including datasets and sensitivity tests, and draft technical reports.
• Create model input data including demographic, land use, transport network and policy scenarios.
• Interpret modeling outputs and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Create and maintain documentation for datasets, processes, and codebases.
• Contribute to data analytics tool improvements and streamline data pipelines.
• Support other traffic operations analyses and traffic engineering tasks as needed.
