CVS Health is seeking a Senior Transportation Operations Analyst to analyze transportation data, identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize carrier selection, routing, and load consolidation for timely, cost-effective operations.

This role supports freight payment/audit functions and collaborates with Category Management, Inventory Management, Logistics and Distribution Centers to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in transportation or related field.
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office Suite experience with Access databases.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes complex transportation data, routes and delivery patterns for cost reduction and efficiency.
• Examines carrier selection, route planning and load consolidation for timely operations.
• Collects and analyzes transportation-related metrics such as volumes, costs and performance.
• Performs freight payment and audit activities ensuring contract compliance and rate matching.
• Manages relationships with carriers and 3PLs to monitor performance and resolve issues.
• Develops and monitors transportation KPIs and provides management updates.
• Identifies improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs.
• Uses TMS and analytics to enhance supply chain visibility and track shipments.
• Collaborates with procurement, inventory and demand planning to align activities.

Position Summary

As the Senior Transportation Operations Analyst, you will analyze transportation data to identify and execute expense control opportunities, build strong working relationships, execute and influence Inbound Transportation freight operational processes as well as provide ad-hoc analysis/reporting. Additionally, this role supports the freight payment and audit function by analyzing freight bills for accuracy and compliance.

You will interact with retail leaders and associates in Category Management, Inventory Management, Logistics, and the Distribution Centers. You will be a strong team member who can influence teams to achieve optimal results and be a resourceful and detailed driven individual who works well under pressure and can complete multiple projects simultaneously.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyzes complex transportation data, routes, and delivery patterns to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improving operational efficiency.
• Examines and optimizes carrier selection, route planning, and load consolidation activities to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation operations.
• Collects and analyzes transportation-related data, including shipment volumes, transportation costs, transit times, carrier performance, and other relevant metrics.
• Performs freight payment and audit functions ensuring contract compliance and freight rate matching
• Evaluates and manages relationships with transportation carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to monitor carrier performance and facilitate the resolution of service issues.
• Develops and monitors key performance indicators and transportation metrics, regularly providing management with transportation performance updates.
• Identifies opportunities to implement continuous improvement strategies that aim to streamline transportation operations while reducing costs.
• Utilizes transportation management systems and data analytics to enhance supply chain visibility and track shipment progress in real-time.
• Collaborates with procurement, inventory management, and demand planning teams to align transportation activities with overall supply chain goals.
• Leads transportation-related projects, such as the implementation of new transportation technologies or process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience within the transportation industry OR a degree in a related field.
• 1+ years of experience in Microsoft Office Suite including proven ability to develop, maintain and run Access databases

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience within the transportation industry OR a degree in a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Microsoft Office Suite including proven ability to develop, maintain and run Access databases
• Working knowledge of problem solving and decision making skills
• Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) preferred.
• Certified Supply Chain Analyst (CSCA) preferred.

Education

• Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.

Pay Range

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
