Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation invites applications for a staff specialist/lead Transportation Engineer in District 8. The role leads the Roadway Design squad, directs CADD design for major projects, and serves as Project Manager on at least one large initiative, while guiding two or more junior engineers.

Responsibilities include developing highway plans, reviewing complex designs, supervising staff, and ensuring adherence to state standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a registered professional engineer by the Ohio State Board.
• 2+ years as a group or project leader or supervisor for engineering teams.
• Experience with highway design, CADD and construction plan reviews.

Responsibilities

• Roadway Design squad lead.
• Design and use CADD for the design of their own projects.
• Project Manager of at least one large project.
• Lead two or more lower-level transportation engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.
