About the Position:

Under the general direction of the District Division Chief for Maintenance Engineering and Asset Management (MEAM), a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the Senior Transportation Engineer (Sr TE) serves as the Branch Chief, Maintenance Construction. The Sr TE is responsible for the administration and delivery of Major Maintenance, Minor, and Emergency projects developed in the MEAM Division. The Sr TE evaluates and develops project needs, collaborates with program managers, manages engineering staff, and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders. The Sr TE must ensure that all projects assigned are completed in accordance with the approved scope, schedule, and budget, and in conformance with all applicable laws, specifications, and plans. This position is subject to call-outs, occasionally requires non-standard shifts, and involves participation in the District’s emergency response efforts. Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer by the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists is required for this position.
