Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead technical expert in detailed development of urban and rural roadway design projects.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state highway systems.
  • Act as a recognized technical authority in an area of specialization, solving complex problems.
  • Take on project management duties and interact with clients as needed.
  • Supervise medium to large teams of professionals and technicians.
  • Manage communication with clients, support and train junior staff, write reports, coordinate with subconsultants, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
  • At least 15 years of design experience.
  • Experience designing urban arterials, rural highways, intersections, freeways, and interchanges.
  • Experience with TxDOT schematic and PS&E projects, and pre-certifications.
  • Experience with MicroStation, InRoads, and Microsoft Office.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of roadway engineering design experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Experience with highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, and transportation planning.
  • Experience coordinating survey, grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout is beneficial.
