Job summary

City of Raleigh North Carolina seeks a Senior Transportation Analyst to administer key business systems, analyze traffic data (volumes, speed, crashes), and respond to resident requests. You’ll engage in hands-on work across daily maintenance, operations, and planning studies, and contribute to reporting derived from daily tasks.

This role supports data-informed infrastructure decisions that improve residents’ quality of life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban/Regional Planning, Transportation Engineering, or related field; 5 to 7 years’ experience in transportation, urban or regional planning, transportation engineering, or related work.
• Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Resident Requests: Provide excellent customer service to residents by intaking and managing resident requests. Develop efficient workflows for high volume requests and coordinate with program staff to complete analysis and provide responses.
• Deliver High‑Quality Analysis: Conduct transportation studies in multiple platforms to respond to resident requests and meet program needs. Validate and synthesize results into clear, actionable insights for staff and program managers.
• Administer Business Systems: Configure the City’s asset management and project management systems to support program workflows. Meet with program staff to understand business needs and implement process improvements to meet those needs.
• Produce and Maintain Reports: Develop, update, and maintain reports and dashboards serving program needs from business system data. Design and maintain processes across systems to allow useful analytics and performance monitoring.
