Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) seeks a Transportation Construction Inspection professional to join our Central PA Team. The principal inspector will supervise construction inspection activities, ensure contractor compliance with plans, and coordinate field staff across project phases.

Candidates should have 8+ years of experience, a high school diploma, NICET Level 2 or higher, and an active drivers license. PA DOT/Turnpike experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong computer proficiency.
• NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction.
• Active drivers license and ability to pass MVS screening.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standards.
• Assign, schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all phases of the project.
• Review and maintain project documentation detailing construction progress, activities and materials.
• Prepare, review and submit inspection reports, work orders and estimates.
• Notify contractor of non-compliance and corrective action.
• Review, analyze and evaluate contractor schedules.
• Track project progress and advise on overruns and issues.
• Attend meetings and assist with change orders and updates to progress.
