Job summary

The State of Nevada seeks a senior attorney to provide legal counsel and representation to the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) across real estate, eminent domain, contracts, torts, construction and environmental matters.

Core duties include litigation, contract review, and client advisory, with a focus on timely, accurate legal guidance and strong leadership in a public sector setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited law school and licensed and in good standing to practice law in Nevada or eligible for limited practice certification.
• Minimum of seven (7) years as a licensed practicing attorney.
• Valid state driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide litigation services for the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) in real estate, eminent domain, contracts, torts, construction, and environmental matters.
• Review and negotiate or approve contracts and agreements for NDOT.
• Advise NDOT clients on risk management and compliance in state and federal law contexts.
