Job Description: Sr. Transportation Account Manager

Position Summary

The Senior Transportation Account Manager is a self-motivated, passionate, and proven team player who is committed to customer success and excels in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Transportation Account Manager will focus on driving new growth and adoption in the light and medium-duty commercial transportation space. This role is responsible for identifying and developing opportunities to increase the sales of existing products, as well as partnering with the Business Development team to introduce new technologies that align with customer needs.

Reporting to and working closely with the VP of Sales, the Senior Transportation Account Manager will also serve as a strategic leader and mentor within the Account Management team, positioned for advancement as the organization scales.

Responsibilities

  • New Business Acquisition: Identify, pursue, and close opportunities within both new and existing accounts, contributing directly to revenue growth.
  • Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve growth targets and strengthen client partnerships.
  • Technology Enablement: Partner with the Business Development team to introduce and facilitate the adoption of new products, services, and innovations.
  • Market Awareness: Leverage existing relationships and build new industry connections to stay informed on trends, competitive dynamics, and market needs.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders across both newly acquired and assigned accounts.
  • Growth & Retention: Drive deeper product and service adoption within accounts to increase customer lifetime value and retention.
  • Team Leadership & Mentoring: Serve as a leader within the account management team, offering mentorship, sharing best practices, and supporting team development.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Maintain accurate pipeline data and forecasts in Salesforce; report regularly on progress, performance metrics, and growth opportunities.
  • Service Level Assurance: Ensure service level agreements are met or exceeded; act as a key escalation point for issue resolution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (Product, Support, Marketing, etc.) to ensure alignment with customer needs and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in account acquisition, strategic account management, and customer success.
  • Deep understanding of the light and medium-duty commercial transportation industry.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in driving account growth and increasing product adoption.
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of mentoring and building team engagement.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and senior-level customer stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot, and Microsoft Office Suite.
