Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead roles in the planning and delivery of transportation projects across various delivery types. You will collaborate with engineers and project managers, contributing to roadway design using OpenRoads Designer and preparing technical reports.

Fully remote candidates are welcome, though a hybrid model based in Fairfax, VA is preferred. The role also includes extensive mentoring of junior engineers and ensuring quality control in all designs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in transportation infrastructure design.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Familiarity with DOT standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design on alternative delivery transportation projects.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for design solutions.
• Serve as liaison among teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Review plans, specifications, and design reports using ORD.
