Job summary

Active Day in Homewood, IL, is seeking Drivers for the Adult Day Center to operate mobility buses, assist with on- and off-boarding, and provide timely transportation to and from centers. You will escort members door-to-door in all weather, support field trips, and help with medical appointments and errands.

We offer part-time, full-time, and per-diem roles, with training provided and opportunities to work in a fun environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 21 years of age.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Valid driver’s license and state/vehicle-specific credentials.
• DOT exam and background checks required.
• Experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and follow maintenance and fueling schedules.
• Assist members with on- and off-boarding and seating.
• Provide door-to-door transportation in all weather conditions.
• Maintain and secure vehicle and related equipment.
• Communicate professionally with members, families and staff.
• Adhere to safety, regulatory laws and company policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve member experience.
