Job summary

Alabama Power in Birmingham, AL is seeking Transmission Project Managers at Levels I–III to lead transmission line and substation capital projects from initiation through construction, commissioning and closeout. The selected level will depend on your experience and qualifications, and proposed rates should align with the level assigned by the hiring manager.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
2–15 years of project-management experience.
Experience leading cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and risk management.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

Manage multiple transmission line and substation projects through the full lifecycle.
Coordinate planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and regulatory activities.
Lead cross-functional project teams, contractors, and vendors.
Maintain accountability for safety, scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and overall performance.
Work with Project Controls to develop schedules, track milestones, and forecast performance.
Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
Administer contracts and coordinate project resources.
Prepare reports and executive dashboards.
Communicate status and priorities to leadership and stakeholders.
Mentor team members and promote continuous improvement.
Conduct project closeout reviews and document lessons learned.
