Job summary

Coalesce Management Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Transmission Project Manager to support large-scale capital projects within the utility sector. You will remain hands-on in project delivery while mentoring junior PMs and guiding stakeholders through complex programs.

The role requires 10+ years of PM experience in electric utility projects, with direct transmission/substation leadership from development through energization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Project Management experience in electric utility capital projects.
• Direct experience leading transmission and/or substation projects from development through energization.
• Strong understanding of utility project delivery, including engineering, procurement, construction, outages, commissioning, and contractor management.
• Demonstrated experience managing large CAPEX budgets, schedules, risks, and multiple stakeholders.
• Direct utility or supporting experience is required.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and mentor less-experienced Project Managers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
• PMP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of large CAPEX transmission and substation projects.
• Own project scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, safety, and stakeholder communication.
• Coordinate internal utility teams, engineering partners, EPC firms, contractors, suppliers, permitting/right‑of‑way groups, and field operations.
• Track project performance, manage forecasts, resolve issues, and drive timely decisions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Support procurement, contractor management, change orders, project controls, construction execution, commissioning, and energization activities.
• Deliver clear project reporting to leadership, including cost, schedule, risks, milestones, and recovery plans.
• Mentor and consult with junior Project Managers—sharing best practices, reviewing project plans, and helping strengthen delivery across the team.
• Help establish a disciplined, safety-focused, customer‑centered project delivery culture.
