Position Overview

The successful candidate will be part of a team providing design support for large, medium, and small-scale substation engineering projects. This role offers excellent growth opportunities for a self-directed individual eager to learn and take on new challenges.

Responsibilities of Senior Transmission Line Project Engineer
  1. Perform routine and detailed design tasks.
  2. Conduct analysis, engineering calculations, and develop construction documents for various structures.
  3. Lead transmission line design projects and coordinate with engineering staff, clients, and project managers.
  4. Assist in verifying code compliance, quality checks, meeting schedules and budgets, and coordinate civil/structural engineering work with other disciplines and CAD designers.
  5. Possess or desire to perform civil design for site utilities and overhead lines.
  6. Engage in conceptual and detailed design activities for power, industrial, and institutional projects.
  7. Communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills.
  8. Conduct analyses to develop design options.
  9. Assist in preparing cost estimates or specifications.
  10. Perform routine engineering and design tasks.
  11. Participate in field reviews or construction observation.
  12. Potentially serve as a project manager for transmission line projects.

Note: Due to client contract requirements, US-born citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering.
  • 10+ years of transmission line design experience.
  • Experience with line design including PLSCADD, structure analysis, project cost estimates, plan and profile preparation, and specifications for power transmission lines up to 500kV.
  • Focus on overhead power transmission; underground transmission experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software.
  • Project engineering and management experience.
  • Preference for local candidates.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Professional Engineers (PE) license.
  • Extensive project execution experience in the Power Market Sector.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and sector-specific design software (e.g., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Revit).
