Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join our ICE Team to improve infrastructure in our Mid-West/North East offices. A bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of transmission system design experience are required.

Proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil3D, PLS CADD, LPILE, and MFAD is required. A flexible hybrid or remote schedule is available after 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is required or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in transmission system design is required.
• Strong knowledge of design programs (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil3D, etc) is required.
• Experience with PLS CADD is required.
• Experience with LPILE or MFAD is required.
• Field experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of overhead and underground transmission systems (69kV-765kV).
• Prepare engineering drawings and design packages (plan/profile, one-lines, structure loading, foundations).
• Perform engineering calculations/studies, including: foundational analysis, guying analysis, and system analysis; conductor sizing, sag/tension analysis.
• Structural loading and clearance compliance; develop specifications, standards, and construction documentation.
• Display effective time management to ensure timely deliverables on multiple projects.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, environmental, and permitting teams; participate in client meetings and design reviews.
• Lead a team of engineers and be an individual contributor toward project delivery; maintain safe working environment.
